First two weeks...

My first two weeks as a social studies teacher have gone smoothly...for the most part. I see every 7th grader in our school (~110) every day, which also made it interesting trying to remember names the first week. By now, I feel a lot more confident with names than I did a week or so ago. I am also coaching and I have been realizing how critical time management is not only in my classes, but in my whole day. We have open house on Wednesday and I am also looking forward to meeting with the kiddos and their parents.

Life as a First Year Teacher

Being a first year teacher can be very...interesting or so I've heard. I've never had a classroom of my own, and I am looking forward to it very much. I am hoping my experience as a permanent substitute in a middle school in the district will help me along the way. Along with my three 7th grade social studies, I will also be teaching two dual language social studies and hope I can really interact with those kids and looking forward to the challenge!
